EDWIN LEE CRIDER, SR., 97, formerly of Howell Road, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Homewood at Williamsport. Born October 12, 1912 in Leitersburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry and Virgie Barnhart Crider. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 69 1/2 years, Helen V. Crider on October 25, 2007. He was employed with Hess Auto Body Company for eight years. He was previously the owner of Broadway Garage and had been employed with Fairchild Aircraft. He was a member of St. John�s Lutheran Church. He is survived by one daughter, Barbara S. Harrell and husband Jerry of Hagerstown, MD; one son, Edwin L. Crider, Jr. and wife Barbara of Hagerstown, MD; a brother, Gilson H. Crider of Hagerstown, Md.; six grandchildren, James D. Harrell, Charles M. (Chuck) Harrell, Sharon Harrell Yates, Mark D. Harrell, Karen Crider Buckley, and Eddie L. Crider, III; and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Wilhide. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
