Edward R. Houser Jr. "Pop", 81 of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully at the home of his Son in Falling Waters, WV on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born October 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Edward R. Houser Sr. and Anna Eugena (Jones) Houser.

He was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Doris Ann (Eichelberger); and his sisters, Etta Virginia Johnson and Jeanette Marie Brown, both of Hagerstown.

He was a member of the Hagerstown Bible Church. He retired from Mack/Volvo Powertrain of Hagerstown after 50 years of service. He was proud to serve in the United States Navy and died a dedicated Patriot to his country.

He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, bird watcher, and quite the jokester. He enjoyed the simple things in life and loved his family whole heartedly.

He is survived by his daughter, Terri L. Houser Smith (Shane) of Sharpsburg, MD, and his son, Edward E. Houser Sr. of Falling Waters, WV. In addition to his children, he has five grandchildren, Edward E. Houser Jr. (Tara), Cara Elizabeth Schildtknecht, Jonathon Neil Houser (Samantha), Caleb Lee Schildtknecht (Gabrielle), Elizabeth Cozy-Rae Houser; and 9 great grandchildren with one great grandson on his way.

For the last ten years, Edward was in a loving relationship with Ms. Cathy Bolin of Winchester, VA.

The family would like to invite their family and friends to the services for their dearly departed family member.

The viewing will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 from 6-8pm, and the funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, December 20th, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
