EDWARD LOUIS BLAIR, 88, of 17616 Burnside Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at his home. Born January 30, 1917 in Rochester, New York, he was the son of the late Kay and Louise Blair. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Irene Guessford Blair on September 1, 1998. He was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Amvets Post 10 of Hagerstown, and the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211. He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Nicholas of Daytona Beach, Florida, Diana Connell of Hagerstown, and Kathleen Herrell of LaVale, Maryland; one son, Ronald Blair of Hagerstown; five sisters, Helen Donaldson, Eva Robinson, Leona Hodge, Amy McCrae, and Mildred Pike, all of New York; one brother, Charles Blair of New York; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Blair; and three brothers, Joseph Blair, William Blair, and Frank Blair. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Saturday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p. m.
