Edith "Edie" Jeannetta Hoffman, 82, formerly of Hagerstown, MD died peacefully Wednesday, December 10 at Providence Place in Chambersburg, PA.
Born in Hancock MD on March 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Marybelle Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Arthur.
Upon graduation from Hancock High school, she attended beauty school in Baltimore, MD. She was employed by Marybelle's House of Beauty in Hancock and Hagerstown.
She was a life-long Lutheran. As a devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed quilting and baking. She was especially known for her annual baking of fastnachts and Christmas cookies.
Edith is survived by her husband of 57 years, Irwin "Irv" Hoffman of Providence Place in Chambersburg, PA. . She is also survived by four daughters, Candace (Candy) Lowry and husband, Phil of State College, PA, Kathryn (Kay) Hoffman of Waynesboro, PA, Ann Hoffman of Lynchburg, VA, Lisa McCoy and husband , Rob, of Hagerstown, MD, and three grandchildren, Andrew and Sarah Lowry of State College, PA and Ashleigh McCoy of Hagerstown, MD.
Services will be Monday, December 15 at 11 am at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev Ronald Milley will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and 1 hour prior to the service.
