EDDIE RALPH LINGER, 70, of 56 Sunrise Circle, Boonsboro, Maryland, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital. Born November 27, 1936 in Buckhannon, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Clyde Forrest and Virginia Genevieve Trembley Linger. He served in the U.S. Marines. He was retired from the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Virginia Beach. He was a 32 degree Mason with the Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge 220, in Virginia Beach. He was a former member of Virginia Beach Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Shilling Linger; two step daughters who he loved very much and treated like his own, Michele Hammer and husband, Douglas of Palmyra, VA and Cheryl Corbin and husband, John of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, James Linger and wife Marilyn of Port Orange, Fl and Richard Linger and wife Janet of Gloucester, VA; three granddaughters, Justine Hammer, Jessica Byrd and Darienne Hammer; two grandsons, Zachary Byrd and Chris Whitman; one niece, Stacey Stanforth and husband Sonny; two nephews, Sid Linger and Eugene Linger and wife Rhonda. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Maryland. The Rev. Alan Clingan will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Graveside services provided by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
