Earnest Williams, Jr., 62, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at Martinsburg VA Medical Center, WV.

Born April 15, 1961, in Richmond, VA, he was the son of Louise Wright Williams and the late Earnest Williams, Sr.

Earnest retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Gunnery Sergeant after 24 years of service. After his retirement he volunteered with Lead 4 Life in Frederick, MD. He was an avid bowler for many years.

Earnest is survived by his wife, Caryn Williams; two daughters, Renee Leib and Alexis Williams; one stepdaughter, Michelle Garver; one stepson, Martin Simms, Jr.; two grandchildren; one sister, Renee Williams; three brothers, Bernest Williams, James Lee Williams, and Kevin Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Williams.

The funeral service will be held at 3pm on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Apostle Haru Carter will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Martinsburg VA Medical Center, VA Hospice Unit, Voluntary Service First Floor, 510 Butler Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25405.
