Dr. Gloria Floresca Pura, age 82, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at her home. Born on October 19, 1941, in Manila, Philippines, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Amado Escobedo Pura and Angela Ariola Floresca Pura.

A respected and compassionate physician, Dr. Pura dedicated her life to healing others. She had a long and successful career in internal medicine, running her own practice for many years. Her dedication to her patients and the community will be remembered by all who knew her.

Dr. Pura was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, where she actively participated in the spiritual life of the congregation. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in her service to others and in her personal journey.

She is survived by her loving son, Jeffrey Morales; her step-daughter, Irene Elefante-Brand; her step-son, Steven Elefante; and three cherished grandchildren, Donald, Anthony, and Renee. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom will treasure her memory.

Dr. Pura was preceded in death by her husband, Nemesio E. Morales, as well as her four sisters: Fredeswinda P. Escarcha, Lorna F. Pura, Fe Pura Espineda, and Rosario F. Pura; and two brothers, Amado F. Pura Jr. and Gil F. Pura.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. James Boric will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
