We come to you with a heartfelt tribute to a remarkable woman, D. Diona Minnich, who passed away on May 3, 2024, after years of dementia. Born on February 26, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James and Lucille (Smith) Wallers. Diona's journey through life was marked by her selfless nature, spirited energy, and unwavering kindness.

A 1966 graduate from Harriman High School in Tennessee, Diona relocated to Hagerstown and began to work for Bell Atlantic. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Her devotion to community shone brightly through her active involvement in the Garden Club, the Women's Club, and her past role in the Hagerstown Lioness Club. Until her condition affected her socially, her love for gardening and her diverse talents enriched her role as a homemaker and hostess, bringing joy and beauty to the lives of those in her circle.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Scott Minnich Sr.; her sons, Frank Minnich, Scott Minnich Jr. and his wife Samelia; her step-daughter, Annette Hendricks and her husband, Darin; her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Alice, Kayla, Natalie, and Tyler; and one great-grandchild. Diona also leaves behind her sister, D. Diane Hendricks and her husband George, many dear friends, and is predeceased by her sister, D. Denise Kelly.

Services will be held 11am Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 6-8pm. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pastor Gregory Shook will officiate.
