DOROTHY CECELIA LOWRY, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at her home. Born February 6, 1926 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Albert Ephraim and Anna Ellen Hamby Bartles. She was a dedicated homemaker. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Leonard E. Lowry; daughter Carolyn Crist and husband Jeff; two sons, David Lowry and wife Mara, and Daniel Lowry and partner Don Henderson; four sisters, Ruth Keyser, Anna Mae Rubeck, Sarah K. Robinson, and Susan R. Whittington; one brother, John E. Bartles; five grandchildren, Penni Lowry and friend Rick, Wayne Lowry and wife Karen, Scott Lowry and wife Gina, Stacie Schnebly and husband Jeremy, and Ashley Adams and husband Josh; one great-grandchild, Austin Schnebly; and three step-great grandchildren, Andrea, Olivia and Carlos Irons. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary G. Gehr, and Martha Jane Hose; and three brothers, Willie E., Albert H., and Clyde Bartles Sr. Services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 1pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Ronald K. Faith and the Rev. Curt Lowry will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 14, from 6-8pm.
