DOROTHY J. LIDIE, 87, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Golden Living Center. Born July 11, 1924, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Emma Jane Reigle Wolfe, and stepdaughter of the late Charley T. Wolfe of Lebanon. Mrs. Lidie is survived by her loving, faithful daughter, companion, and caretaker, Susy Swope of Hagerstown; daughter, Bonnie Wilson, and husband, Paul, of Martinsburg, West Virginia; son, Joseph D. Swope, and wife, Nancy, of Boonsboro, Maryland; daughter, Debbie Dagenhart, and husband, Donnie, of Hagerstown; daughter, Trudy Cummings of Hagerstown; and brother, Charles Jr. Wolfe of Lebanon. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Lidie was preceded in death by her husband, Arvin Lidie in 2009; son, Douglas Swope ( twin of Debbie Dagenhart) in 2007; a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Swope in 1978; and brother, Richard J. Wolfe in 1987. She was of the Christian faith, and had been a member of Evangel Baptist Church. There will be no viewing or service, per her wishes. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
