DOROTHY GRACE WALTERS GANTT, 82, of Homewood Retirement Center, 16505 Virginia Avenue, Williamsport, Maryland, died on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Maryland. Born July 21, 1921 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Emma Varner Walters. She was employed with the Veterans Administration, retiring on December 31, 1978, and formerly employed with the Treasury Department from 1942 to 1959. She attended the Chapel at Homewood. She was a former member of Toastmasters. She is survived by her husband, Albert Gantt, whom she married on November 22, 1950; two daughters, Linda Maenner of Hedgesville, West Virginia, and Charlene Clark of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one son, Kevin Gantt of Lexington Park, Maryland; grandchildren, Jason Maenner of Hedgesville West Virginia, Melissa Marlette of Bowie, Maryland, Carol Park of Binghamton, New York, Kevin Tyler Gantt of Lexington Park, Maryland, Corey Clark of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Samantha Gantt of Lexington Park, Maryland; and two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Marlette, and Chloe Marlette, both of Bowie, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Friday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. Rev. Reginald Rice will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p. m. Friday at the Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9 to l0 a. m. (one hour prior to the service).
