Obituary

DOROTHY BURGAN BREWER, 70, of Clear Spring, Maryland, died on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at her home. Born July 20, 1938 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Walter D. and Mildred Fitz Haynes. She was preceded in death by her first husband, J. Richard (Dick) Burgan on January 10, 1983. She was employed as a switchboard operator with the Washington County Hospital, retiring after thirty years. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the A.A.R.P., Moose Auxiliary in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, and American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42 Auxiliary. She is survived by her second husband, William D. Brewer; one daughter, Kimberly S. McDonald, and husband Peter, of Hagerstown; two sons, Mark R. Burgan, and wife Karen, of Smithsburg, Maryland, and Steven B. Burgan, and wife Krista, of Hagerstown; one sister, Rev. Patricia Drake of Keedysville, Maryland; and six grandchildren, Danielle Burgan, Karis Burgan, Tyler Burgan, Sarah Burgan, J. R. Burgan, and Kara Burgan.. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Pastor Randall Reid and Bishop Joseph Yeakel will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p. m.
