DOROTHEA LOUISE (Billie) KERSHNER, 81 of Hagerstown, Maryland went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 29 2012 at Meritus Medical Center. Born July 15, 1931 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Eugene and Dorothy Virginia Reynolds Hahn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Kershner. She worked for the State of Maryland as a registered nurse at MCI, retiring after 40 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she taught Sunday School for 15 years. She formerly worked with the Girl Scouts for 15 years and was a camp nurse for the scouts. Billie enjoyed flag football that her son played and was the team nurse for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Cecilia Vanderau and a son, Ralph H. Kershner, Jr. of Walterboro, South Carolina; three grandchildren. Kate Gossard Cook, Charles Gossard and Ralph H. Kershner, III, and one great- grandchild, Jackson Cook; and two stepgranddaughters, Katy and Quinn Vanderau. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, Md. The Rev. Collins Poston will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md. on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday.
