Doris Ruth Warden, 88, passed away from her earthly life on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center. Born October 27, 1927 in Halfway, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. and Ethel Irene (Gossard) Bowman. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Galen R. Warden on November 9, 2002. She attended Hagerstown schools and graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1945. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Hagerstown, and has been attending services at Homewood at Williamsport-Hilltop Vistas in recent months. Doris lived in Conroe, TX for many years and was very proud of her volunteer work with the American Red Cross at Conroe Medical Center in Conroe, TX. She is survived by a son, Richard A. Warden (Marietta) of Annandale, VA; two daughters, Susan A. Sharer (Terry) of Williamsport, MD, and Laura K. Mitchell (Diana Hunt) of Maringouin, LA; two grandsons, Christopher A. Sharer (Dawn) of Williamsport, MD, and Matthew K. Mitchell (Deborah) of Davie, FL; three great grandsons, Aaron R. Sharer of Moncks Corner, SC, Taylor D. Sharer of Moncks Corner, SC, and Ryan C. Sharer of Williamsport, MD; one great granddaughter, Madison D. Sharer of Williamsport, MD; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Doris was also preceded in death by two sister, Elizabeth Mae Ringer and Emma Grace (Amy) Fuss. Memorial Services will be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Avenue, Hagerstown, MD on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11am with Rev. Randall Reid officiating. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be private at Salem Reformed Church Cemetery.
