Doris A. Rowland, 80, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Sterling Care South Mountain in Boonsboro, MD.Born on September 18, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Charles Olden and Edith Marie (Grams) Olden.

She was a retired deli clerk from Weis Market on Eastern Blvd in Hagerstown. Doris loved bingo and scratch off lottery tickets. She was very lucky when it came to both. She was an Avon representative alongside her best friend Pat Rice Mills for many, many years. She was an avid duck pin bowler on the Wednesday Morning Ladies League at Longmeadow Bowling Alley for many years before the league folded.

Doris was a proud 13-year breast cancer survivor. She was a very strong-willed individual, who battled her fair share of health   obstacles. Especially over the past 3 years.  Special thanks to her third floor Chesapeake Hall care team at Sterling Care South Mountain. All of you took the best care of mom over the past few years, and her children will forever be grateful for all the love and comfort you provided.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Norman L. Rowland; her brother, Charles L. Olden; three sisters, Mary Ginger Blair, Betty Jean Carter and Clara Marie Wallech.

She will be missed by her three children, Dwayne Rowland, Trish Rowland and Deann Routson and her husband Mark; three grandchildren, Courtney Mulligan and her husband Zach, Nick Rowland and Ashlee Rowland; one great granddaughter Baylee Mulligan; two sisters, Evelyn Allen and Jane Violet; one brother-in-law Donald Violet; two sisters-in-law Kathy Witman and Carol Rowland and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 7 to 9pm at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. A private graveside service will be held at Beaver Creek Cemetery.
