Doris Jane Roberts, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. She was born on June 1, 1930 on the family farm outside of Funkstown to the late Preston Miller Kendle Sr. and Martha Isabelle Stine Kendle.

Doris was married on June 29, 1956 to her late husband, Morris S. Roberts. She was an active PTA member and helped with Student Banking at Funkstown Elementary School. She also served as a chaperone for the Washington County Children's Theatre. Doris retired from Upstart Free Line after serving for 15 years from 1975 to 1990. She was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church Chewsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris S. Roberts, her sisters, Pauline Kendle, Virginia Wills, Kathryn Myers, and Cora Snowberger, her brothers, Harry Kendle, Richard Kendle, Robert Kendle, Preston Kendle Jr., Donald Kendle, Ralph Kendle, Glen Kendle, and Leon Kendle.

She is survived by her sons, David Roberts and his wife, Kathy and Todd Roberts, her grandchildren, Eli Roberts, Abigail Roberts, Isabelle Roberts, and Kian Roberts, her sister, JoAnn Brining, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcomed for visitation on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10:00am -11:00am at Bethel United Methodist Church, 21006 Twin Springs Drive in Smithsburg.

A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00am at Bethel United Methodist Church.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
