Doris Emily McSherry, 91, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born July 16, 1933 in Charlottesville, VA, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Cornelia A. (Ward) Morris.

Doris enjoyed reading and collecting dolls. She loved children and was a Daycare Provider for many years.

She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple.

She is survived by three daughters, Jane Collis (husband, Roger), Darlene Helman, and Debbie Duvall (husband, Rick); one son, Victor McSherry; 10 grandchildren, Guy II (wife, Stacy), Nathan, Angie (husband, Scott), John III, Curtis, Doris (husband, Rodney), Michael, Carrie (husband "Buck"), Matthew (wife, Amanda), and Diane; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Connie Robinson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. McSherry; her first husband, Ivan Helman; daughter, Peggi Robinson; two sisters, Erma Jean Morris and Shirley Thomas; one brother, Melvin Morris; and stepfather, Sidney Frazier.

The funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Roy Robinson and Pastor Jeffrey Hanes will officiate the services.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
