Schildtknecht.

Doris was a devoted Christian and a Godly woman who loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith
guided every part of her life and was reflected in the love, compassion, and strength she shared
with others. She raised her children and grandchildren with purpose, grace, and unwavering
devotion, always leading by example.
She found joy in life's simple blessings — baking, cooking, sewing, dancing, caring for children, and
creating a warm and loving home for her family. She especially loved spending peaceful moments at
City Park in Hagerstown, a place that brought her comfort and happiness.
To know Doris was to feel loved. She loved deeply, selflessly, and unconditionally. She never gave
up on anyone and always saw the good in people. She listened with genuine care, making everyone
feel heard, valued, and important. Her kindness, generosity, patience, and infectious laughter
touched countless lives.
She was the heart of her family — a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
caregiver, and friend. Her strength, resilience, and beautiful spirit held generations
together and will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Doris often joked that she wanted her gravestone to read, "Wow, what a ride!" Those who loved her
know how perfectly that captured her spirit, humor, and appreciation for life.
Though her family's hearts are heavy with loss, they rejoice in knowing she is now dancing in
Heaven, embraced by the Lord she faithfully loved and served throughout her life. Her legacy of
faith, love, laughter, and devotion will live on for generations to come.
She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family.
A celebration of life/memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20th from 2-4pm @ Breezy
Acres Herbst Farm, 20204 Old Forge Road, Hagerstown MD 21742. Friends and family are welcome
to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Washington County Hospice.
