Dorcus Virginia Mills, 78, of Hagerstown, passed away, Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 23, 1945 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Hume and Avis Gerseldia (Maust) Mcgaha.

Dorcus was a 1963 graduate of Somerset High School. She was employed by MD Ribbon, Statton Furniture, K-Mart and retired from the MVA in Hagerstown. She enjoyed sewing, watching old TV shows, and taking care of her family.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Mills; children, James Mills (Laura), Jerry Mills, April Mills Coleman (David), Holly Mills Reese (John), Michael Mills, John Mills, and Keith Ashton; grandchildren, Joseph Mills, Christopher Mills, Brittany Dennison, Chelsea Mills, Shakur Holman-Mills, Kayla Green, Bryan Durboraw, Jaden Brady, Gabriel Brady, Morgan Mills, Michael Mills, Tyler Mills, Matthew Mills, Nicole Mills, Jonathan and Trent Ashton; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Perry; and brother-in-law, Rev. Jerry Lowans.

She was preceded in death by one son, Charles "Butch" Mills, II; grandson, Shane Mills; sisters, Maryland and Helen; mother-in-law, Mary Lowans; brother-in-law, James Mills; and sister-in-law, Carol Mohr.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Jerry L. Lowans will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 6-8pm.
