DONALD LOUIS (DONNIE) SHARER, 68, of 513 Mulberry Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the home of his son. Born August 10, 1940 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late John Donnely and Helen Louise Grimes Sharer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Sharer. He served in the U. S. Army. He was a coach for several years at National Little League, Jr. Football and Youth Basketball. He is survived by one son, Jeffrey Sharer of Hagerstown; step-daughters, Donna Jones of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Mary Jo Zimmerman of Richmond, Virginia; step-son, John Gooding, Jr. of Pass Christian, Mississippi; two granddaughters and one grandson; four step-grandsons and 7 step-granddaughters; five step-great-grandchildren; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael A. Sharer; several aunts and uncles; and cousins. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in Flintstone, Maryland. Chaplain Bob Lloyd will officiate. Family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard on Monday from 6 to 8 p. m.
