Donald Joseph Frisch, 80, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, August 1, 2025, at Williamsport Nursing Home.

Born December 3, 1944 in Washington County, MD, he was the son of the late Julius and Frances E. (Batt) Frisch.

He was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, Class of 1962 and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving from 1962-1966.

Donald was employed by N.U.M.E.C. of New York, Pangborn Corp. in the Foundry from 1966-1982 and worked part time at Hagerstown News Distributors from 1975-1985. He retired in 2005 from M.C.T.C. after 22 years of service.

He was a lifetime member of Funkstown American Legion and the AMVETS. Donald enjoyed fishing and gardening. As a teenager, he was a Boy Scout at St. John's Episcopal Church, Troop #12, making the rank of Life Scout, Order of the Arrow.

He was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in Fairview, MD.

Donald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Colleen Fay (Martin) Frisch, whom he married July 25, 1966; one daughter, Christina Frisch; one son, Joseph Frisch; and four grandchildren, Ashley Blandford, Krystal Frisch, Gabrielle and Isabelle Zimmerman.

He was preceded in death by half sister, Dorothy Jones; half-brother, Ralph Albert; and a very special cousin, Judith E. Clinton, who saved his life as they were both babies.

Services will be held at 11am Thursday, August 7, 2025 with Pastor Bill Divelbiss officiating at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be in Broadfording Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Thursday morning, August 7, 2025.
