Obituary

DONALD FLEMING COWMAN, 45, of Hagerstown, Maryland, and formerly of Morgantown, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 23, 2006 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown. He was born November 5, 1960 in Fairmont, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Edwin F. and Doris F. Cowman. He graduated from Morgantown High School in 1979, and Fairmont State College in May 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He worked at Oliver Homes, Inc. as a Home Improvement Manager for almost twelve years. He was an active member of Maranatha Brethren Church, Scott Hill Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland where he served as a trustee, and song leader of the Ambassadors for Christ Sunday School Class. For many years, he helped teach the Junior High Boys Class. He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Vicki Hutzell Cowman. They were married December 22, 1982. He was blessed with two beautiful children. A son, Andrew Lawrence Cowman of Beltsville, Maryland; and a daughter, Jessica Elaine Cowman, still at home; two brothers, Robert D. Cowman, and wife, Peggy Cowman, of Jacksonville, Florida, and James C. Cowman, and wife, Carolyn Cowman, of Riverview, Michigan; seven nieces, Lauren and Shelby Cowman of Jacksonville, Florida, Courtney and Kristin Cowman of Riverview, Michigan, and Dawn Hutzell, Amy Clipp, and Rhiannon Hutzell, all of Hagerstown; and two nephews, Derek Hutzell and Matthew Clipp, also of Hagerstown; Father in law Lawrence Hutzell, Boonsboro, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Saturday at the Maranatha Brethren Church, 19835 Scott Hill Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland. Rev. Jay M. Fretz, and Rev. Ronald L. Shank will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. Family will receive friends at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Friday from 6:30 to 9:00 p. m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Youth For Christ, 712 Church Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
