Donald C. Clayton, Sr., 89, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at home. Born July 18, 1930 in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Russell and Amanda (Thomas) Clayton. Donald retired from D.C. Transit, and he had been employed with Sams Club in Hagerstown for 27 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Donald is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Hudson Clayton; two daughters, Cheryl Ann Persons and husband, Eric, and Vickie Lynn Hartlaub; one son, Donald C. Clayton, Jr. and wife, Jackie; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Robert Anderson, Caisha Sandchez, Amanda Swartz, Donald M. Clayton, Laura Simpson, Christopher Leventhal, and Joseph Leventhal; and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by one son, Steven E.
