DONALD LEE CARPENTER, 69, formerly of Beaver Creek, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2006 in Sun City, Arizona. Don and his wife, Betty were born and raised in Hagerstown; both lived and worked in the area for over fifty years. After his retirement in 1994 from Eastalcoa in Frederick, they moved to Arizona. Don is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Betty Jane (Shank); daughters, Cristy Lee Fogle of Glendale, Arizona, and Donna Jane Riggleman, and husband, Jeff, and granddaughter, Keitra Renee Grant, of Falling Waters, West Virginia. He is also survived by brothers, Richard, and wife, Alma, of Hancock, Maryland, and Willie, and wife, Jane, of Florida; and sister, Betty Hawbaker of Greenberry Hills, Hagerstown. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, January 21 from 11:00 a. m. to 12:45 p. m. at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p. m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.
