Donald Eugene Butts, 85, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, in Hagerstown, MD, where he lived a full and vibrant life since his birth on March 21, 1938, in Maryland. Donald was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who cherished his family above all.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Christy Brooks and husband Tony; devoted son, Randy Butts and wife Susie; caring brother, Ronald Butts; adored grandchildren, Stephanie Brooks, Jennifer Brooks, Katie Grabill, and Ryan Davis and wife Katie; and treasured great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Harper, Hudson, Carson, and Riley. Donald was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Judy Barr Butts.

He was a member of the Funkstown and Williamsport American Legions, Williamsport Moose Club, Williamsport Redmen Club Tribe #84, Elks Club, MD Amvet Post #10, Goodwill Athletic Association, and the Blue and Gray Model T Ford Club of America. Donald's hobbies included tinkering with antique cars and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a drummer in the Municipal Band of Hagerstown and was named "Most Musical" in 1956 at Hagerstown High School where he was part of the last graduating class. He was a fan of all sports and coached youth sports. His presence was a constant at his grandchildren's events, and his dedication to family and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

The funeral will be held at 10am on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 6-8pm.
