Dennis Wayne Rhyne, 64, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away, May 17, 2016 at the VA Center in Martinsburg after a long illness. Born November 3, 1951 in Bethesda, MD, he was the son of Mary Loretta (Nichols) Rhyne and the late Marvin Elmer Rhyne. Dennis attended North Hagerstown High School, and received his GED Certificate. He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Army, and was of the Christian faith. Dennis was a big sports fan, and his real passion was to spend time at the river fishing. Along with his mother, he is survived by one sister, Gina M. Lawerence of Fort Myer, FL; and one brother, Steven L. Rhyne and wife, Sissy of Hagerstown, MD. The family would like to thank the VA Medical Center and staff for their excellent care and support; Dennis' biggest caregiver and supporter, Uncle Harold E. Nichols; his favorite aunt, Linda L. Newlin; and Bonnie McKinley of FL who lent her help during his stay in Florida. Services will be held 9:30am, Friday, May 20, 2016 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Bill Divelbiss will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home.
