Dennis Lambros Karavias, 86, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at his home.

Born May 13, 1937, in Ithaca, Greece, he was the son of the late Lambros Dennis and Galatia (Giannioti) Karavias.

He worked for Giant Bakery, then retired as a foreman from Giant Food where he worked for 45 years.

Dennis was an avid golfer and card player. He was a former member of Beaver Creek Golf Club and Waynesboro Golf Club. He was of the Greek Orthodox Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Rockwell) Karavias; two sons, Denny Karavias and wife, Tammy, and Nick Karavias and wife, Jackie; one daughter, Michelle Jones and husband, Kenny; six grandchildren, Katie Maier and husband, Dylan, Dorian Jones and wife, Sydney, Jarod Jones, Faith Karavias, Hope Karavias, and Sofi Karavias; six great-grandchildren, Haydn, Cru, Avery, Asher, Jack, and Atlas; sister-in-law, Chrysanthe Karavias; niece Galateia Karavias;, and nephew, Lambros Karavias.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Konstantinos Karavias.

The funeral will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Father Dennis Buck will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
