Dena Marie French, 66, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Williamsport Health and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Born June 7, 1958, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harold Dean French, Sr. and Viva "Tiny" Cecile (Beittel) French.
Dena graduated from South Hagerstown High School, class of 1976, and went on to obtain her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Graphic Design from Hagerstown Business College in 2006.
Dena dedicated 20 years of her career to Garden State Tannery before transitioning to Walmart Distribution Pharmacy. She attended Valley Assembly of God.
Known for her warm smile and vibrant soul, Dena had the ability to make everyone feel loved and welcome. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. She was always the life of the party, with her contagious laugh and outgoing personality. She filled every room with laughter and love. Her passions in life were art, photography, girls' trips, family trips and movie nights. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, holding her memories close to their heart.
Dena is survived by her son, Jason Taylor and wife, Tia; her daughter, Monica Kunkle and husband, Troy; five grandchildren, Kristen Pickett, Destiny Taylor, Jordyn Kunkle, Kaelynn Kunkle, and Keldon Taylor; one great-grandchild, Hunter Rowland; two sisters, Lisa Cunningham and Carrie Flook; and one brother, Harold French, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 6-9pm.
The funeral will be held at 1pm on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Robert Robinson will officiate the service, followed by burial at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
