Delores Louise Koontz, 83, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center. Born August 5, 1933 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Lula I. (Semler) Koontz. Delores was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Hagerstown. She worked at Rocco's Restaurant, and as a presser at E.J. Fennel. Delores enjoyed her home and yard, and loved her cats. She was a wonderful cook, and devoted to her sister, nieces and nephews. All of her family loved her and was devoted to her. She will be sadly missed. Delores is survived by three nieces, Debbie Hoover of Hagerstown, and Pam Scott and companion, Lloyd Heiston, of Hagerstown, and Patricia Koontz of Hagerstown; nephew, Rick Scott and wife, Tina, of Smithsburg; four great nieces, Terah Ware and husband, Jason, of Berkley Springs, WV, Linsey Scott of NC, Katie Heiston, and Lily Heiston, both of Hagerstown; one great nephew, Kevin Hoover of Hagerstown; and one great-great nephew, Koen Ware of Berkley Springs, WV. In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Koontz and Ruth Elaine (Koontz) Scott; and one brother, Kenneth Koontz. A graveside services will be held 11am Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Stephanie S. Steele will officiate. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home.
