Delores Kibler Surrena aged 62, (Dee to anyone who met her) peacefully embraced her warrior’s ending with her six year battle with metastatic breast cancer on September 23, 2026.

Born in Hagerstown on January 15, 1964, Dee was always a Hagerstown girl at heart. She graduated from Clear Spring High School and began her career in retail management, first with Montgomery Wards, before moving to Target, and retiring from Weis Markets after learning of her cancer diagnosis.

Never one to let the heaviness of her situation get the best of her, Dee embraced life with open arms. On any day, she could be found at one of her favorite local diners with her husband, Mike, volunteering with the Catholic Daughters at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, working on her homemade greeting cards, or finding ways to spoil her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mike, she is survived by three sisters; Ellie, Linda and Martha.

Dee is proceeded in death by her parents, Homer and Ida Pearl Kibler; her brothers George and Robert, and her sister Dottie.

Visitation will be held at Minnich’s Funeral Home on October 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Per Dee’s request, visitors are encouraged to wear their favorite, most comfortable hoodie and comfiest pants.

A funeral mass will be held on October 9, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, MD at 10:30 a.m. with Father James Boric officiating.
