It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Deborah Kay Scott Hoover, who passed on August 29th, 2022.

Debbie was born in Hagerstown, MD on July 20th, 1953, to Richard W. Scott and Ruth E. Scott.

In her youth, she studied shorthand and secretarial skills at North Hagerstown High School. Her love for learning and organization was highlighted during her twenty years of employment with Frederick Memorial Hospital where she retired.

Debbie enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was often found in her garden of flowers and hummingbirds. Throughout her life, she loved and cared for many cats; Chai, Kizzie and Aslan to name a few. Her memories and creativity were shared in scrapbooking. She was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend.

Debbie is survived by her children, Kevin S. Hoover, Terah L. Ware and son-in-law, Jason E. Ware; her grandson, Koen A. Ware; her siblings, Richard L. Scott and Pamela S. Scott; and her step-mother, Sara Scott.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard W. Scott; her mother, Ruth E. Scott; her aunt, Delores L. Koontz and her former husband, Geary L. Hoover.

To celebrate Debbie's life; a gathering will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD on Saturday, September 10th, 2022, 10am - 12:30pm. The burial service will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery at 1pm. All are welcome.
