Dawn Alecia (Close) Massey, of Williamsport, MD, passed from life through death and into eternity on November 8, 2023. She is now absent from the body and face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was born on the 5th of October 1945, in Morgan County, WV to Elsie Pauline (Frock) and Vernon Glenwood Close.

She was the beloved wife of Jerry Edgar Massey and devoted mother of Faith M. Massey, Daniel S. Massey and wife, Odeza, Grace M. Unger and husband, Robert, and Douglas A. Massey and wife, Genie. She was affectionately called Grammy by her seven grandchildren, Isaac Massey, Nathan Unger, Katherine Massey, Elyse Unger, Charlotte Massey, Blake Massey, and Hope Massey. She is survived by her brother, Leon Close, her sister, Bonnie Close, and her brothers, Thomas and Timothy Close.

She lived her life in the light of the words of Joshua 24:15, "For me and my house, we will serve the Lord." She was a dedicated homemaker and foundation for her family. Dawn loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and friends. She loved to grow her own food, and gardening became her passion. Throughout her life, she had an appreciation for music and dancing.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Timothy Close will officiate. The family will be receiving visitors at the funeral home before the service from 2-3pm.
