DAVID LEE YODER, 83, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at his home. Born May 12, 1931 in Washington County, MD, he was the son of the late Karl and Cleora Saunders Winters. David served his country in the US Army, 7th Division, in Korea. He was retired from the Western Maryland and CSX Railroad after 43 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed making delicious pies for everyone; taking his boat to Ocean City, MD to go fishing and crabbing; and he loved the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens. David was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Mediary Lodge #140, and Funkstown American Legion. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn Schooley Yoder (married June 8, 1952); nephew, John Raymond Staley of Hagerstown, whom he raised; six nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews; seven great-great nieces and nephews; and his Golden Retriever, Porter, whom he loved dearly. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by one son, David Lynn Yoder; and one brother, Paul E. Yoder. Services will be at 11am, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will provided.
