David Leon Reed, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the age of 72, at Meritus Medical Center. Born on November 23, 1951, in Clear Spring, MD, David's life was defined by his devotion to family and his passion for the great outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Reed; granddaughter, Patricia Kauffman (husband, Jon); sister, Nancy Netz (husband, Roger); brother Charles Reed (wife, Delight); many nieces, nephews, and a special niece, Brittany, who he fondly called "Babydoll"; sisters-in-law, Betty, Deborah, and Teresa (husband, Edward).

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Flook; and brothers-in-laws, Robert Eaton and William Siler.

An avid hunter and fisherman, David relished the time spent in nature. The squirrels that visited his backyard found a friend in him, being treated with affection as if they were his babies. His life was a portrait of simple joys, deep family ties, and the serene pleasure of the natural world. David's warmth and generosity will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his family, along with all those fortunate enough to have known him.
