DAVID HOWARD (HENRI) PHILLIPS, II, 42, of 757 Spruce Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at his home. Born December 26, 1962 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Judy A. Davis Moore of Hagerstown, and the late David Howard Phillips. He was a 1980 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He was employed with the Maryland Correctional Training Center for seventeen years. He was a member of the Redmen Tribe #84 of Williamsport, and the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211. He was batboy for numerous Funkstown Legion teams that were managed by his father, the late Dave Phillips. In 1978 and 1979 he played for the Hagerstown Colt League, winning the Colt League World Series in 1979. He played varsity baseball for South Hagerstown High School. In 1979, 1980, and 1981, he played for the Funkstown American Legion under the management of his father, winning State Tournament Championships in both 1979 and 1980. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Pamela L. Phillips; one daughter, Kelsi Jo Phillips of Sharpsburg, Maryland; one sister, Shannon Phillips of Hagerstown; and two brothers, Keith Long of Hagerstown, and Daniel Moore of Funkstown, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Jack Hill will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p. m.
