David Lee Myers, Sr., 69, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away, Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born February 4, 1954 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Gardner L. and Virginia (Sampsell) Myers.

David was a 1972 graduate of Clear Spring High School. He retired from the State of Maryland Department of Corrections and the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, WV. He was the owner of D.L. Myers Construction for 25 years.

David loved his family and supported his grandchildren in all of their sports and activities. He loved riding his Harley and was featured in the Easy Rider magazine. He was an Orioles fan, and enjoyed crabbing, traveling to the beach, the Maryland Terrapins, woodworking, and Nascar. He especially loved a good seafood meal. David played the trumpet and was an accomplished musician.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nicki Sue (Hesson) Myers; one daughter, Amy Lynn Whittington, and husband, Robert; one son, David L. Myers, Jr., and husband, Jesse; one sister, Sue Hesson, and husband, Mike; two grandchildren, Taylor Leigh Whittington and Camden Robert Whittington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman S. Myers and Leon G. Myers.

Funeral services will be private by his request.
