David Charles Muritz, 65, of Hagerstown, MD, born on January 12, 1959, was the son of the late Robert William and Louise Virginia (Hull) Muritz. David was welcomed into the arms of his heavenly Father on June 22, 2024. After living 17 years with ALS, David finally walked through the pearly gates hearing a resounding, "Well done, good and faithful servant…Come and share your master's happiness!"

Dave is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 42 years, Marsha (Eberly) Muritz, who has provided him with unparalleled care–never leaving his side. Together, Dave and Marsha raised two children, a son, Eric Muritz, and a daughter, Erin Croteau. Erin Croteau and her husband Sam have three children: Jonah, Eli, and Noelle. Dave took great joy in knowing he was able to live to see his grandchildren be born and watch them grow. Dave is also survived by his brother, Robert Muritz, and his wife Nancy, as well as his in-laws, Paul and Sandy Eberly.

Dave was a proud employee of Volvo/Mack Trucks as an Engineering Designer since 1979. He always went to work with a smile on his face and would greet everyone on the phone with a cheerful, "Engineering, Dave Muritz!" He valued hard work and loved being able to provide for his family.

As a long-time member of Maranatha Brethren Church, Dave served as a trustee, usher, treasurer, and recording secretary. He consistently put others before himself and was quick to drum up conversation with everyone. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Dave had a bright and kind countenance even while living with ALS. He was never known to utter a single complaint. Even when communication became difficult, he would tell everyone, "Because of His grace, mercy, and promises, I have the peace of the Lord in my life. I'm not depressed and not giving up." Dave wanted everyone to know of the hope we have in Jesus.

A celebration of life will be officiated by Pastor John and Melissa Miller, at Maranatha Brethren Church in Hagerstown, MD on Saturday, June 29, 2024. The family will receive guests starting at 11am with a memorial at 12pm. A meal will follow in the fellowship hall. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
