Obituary

DAVID WILLIAM (SLIM) MOORE, SR., 69, of 1168 Leisure Drive, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center. Born April 4, 1942, in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of Bessie Little of Big Pool, Maryland, and the late George Moore. He was a drywall finisher in construction. He was a member of Cornerstone Church of Christ in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. He had many hobbies; he loved hunting and fishing, remodeling homes, yard sales, and especially loved to be with his family. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving fianc, Susan Pifer of Chambersburg; three daughters, Dixie Mills, and husband, Kevin, of Williamsport, Maryland, Cheryl Cosgrove of Hagerstown, and Amy Cornett, and husband, Jeff, of Martinsburg, West Virginia; three sons, David William Moore, Jr., and wife, Shirley, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, John W. Moore, and wife, Traci, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, Jason Moore, and wife, Tina, of Hagerstown; step-daughter, Rhonda Reid, and husband, Ron, of Hagerstown; one brother, James "Buck" Gaynor of Artemas, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Ashley Cunningham, Gary Shatzer, Cody Moore, Shaelyn Cosgrove, Ethan Cornett, Ryan Reid, and Ross Reid; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; ex-wife, Pam Miller of Hagerstown; and his pet dogs, Jasper, Heidi, and Kayanna. He was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Furley, and one brother, Robert Moore. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 7:00 p. m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. Pastor Jerry Timbrook will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A family gathering will be one hour prior to the service, from 6 to 7 p. m.
