David "Forbes" Jones, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Homewood at Williamsport.

Born August 19, 1935 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Clyde and Jeanette "Mimi" (Martin) Jones.

He served in the US Marine Corps. He was a former Hagerstown policeman, and he retired from Mack Truck after 47 years of employment. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge.

Forbes was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy "Dotty" Jones.

He is survived by his sons, Dr. Jeffrey Jones and wife, Patti, and Kurt Jones and wife, Christine; his daughter, Lisa Thurston and husband, Barry; three grandsons, Patrick Jones, William Jones, and Kyle Jones; four granddaughters, Dr. Maria Jones, Courtney Jones, Stephanie Miller, and Brittany Emery; and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, October 21, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W Washington St, Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
