Darryl "Big D" Lynn Bowen, 61, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Julia Manor.

Born November 6, 1963, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Lynn Eugene and Janet Lorraine (Lowery) Bowen.

Darryl retired from the Maryland Correctional Training Center and was a member of the Funkstown American Legion. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles fan. He was also a member of the Kamelot Lancers, Westshoreman Drum and Bugle Corps., South High Alumni Band and bowled at Southside for many years.

He is survived by his sister, Allison Bowen Edlund and husband, Chris; his brother, Dean Lowery Bowen; sister-in-law, Rachel Bowen; niece, Melody Bowen; nephew, Tanner Bowen; brother-in-law Daryl Domer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George William Kearns and Jeffrey Milton Kearns.

A graveside service will be held at 10am on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm.
