Darlene Haller Sword, 86, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Ravenwood Nursing Home. Born May 31, 1933 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Marie Eva (Carbaugh) and Charles William Haller, Sr. She retired from Antietam Paper Company. She was of the Methodist faith. Darlene is survived by her daughter, Kristin Marie Sword; son, Stuart William Sword; four grandchildren, Maurice, Tyler, Teal, and Tamara; three great grandchildren; a dearly loved nephew, Charles W. Haller III. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles W. Haller, Jr. A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 11am with Pastor Bill Divelbiss officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD from 6 to 8pm. Darlene would often donate to St. Judes. In her honor, memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
