Daniel "Dan" John Doherty, 90, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at home. Dan was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts on April 2, 1932 to the late Daniel Doherty and Mary (Harrington) Doherty.

Dan was a Navy Veteran and retired from the US Postal Service in 1990 after 33 years of service. He was a true gentleman and will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Agnes (Bond) Doherty; son, Dennis L. Doherty; and brother, Francis Doherty.

He is survived by son, Daniel P. Doherty and wife, Kellie. "Pappy" will be missed by his grandchildren, Theresa Doherty, Sean Doherty and Jack Doherty. He is also survived by siblings, Patricia Cahill, Marilyn Scanlan and husband Joseph, and Vincent Doherty as well as special friend, Cindy Chamberlin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 12pm – 1pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The funeral service will begin at 1pm, officiated by Rev. George Limmer. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Gardens.
