Obituary

CRAIG NORMAN DRAKE, 74 of 19420 Jeswood Drive, Hagerstown, Md., died on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Born July 9, 1935 in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Norman and Ethel Edson Drake. Craig was a graduate of Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Craig was employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs for 25 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Craig is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Jean Drake; three daughters, Roxanne Greenleaf and husband William of Chesnee, South Carolina, Tammy Wood of Smithsburg, Md., Laura Edwards and husband Michael of Frederick, Md., a son, Scott Drake of Smithsburg, Md., a sister, Beverly Roberts of Richmond, Va., 8 grandchildren, Tiffany Owings, twins, Justin and Joshua Jones, Lindsey Dixon, Heather Wood, Brandon Wood, Christian Edwards and Aaron Edwards; and 3 great grandchildren, Jeremiah Owings, Lance Jones and Hailey Jones. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a. m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Avenue. Rev. C. Michael Henning will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Avenue, Hagerstown, Md. 21740.
