CLYDE WILLIAM "BILL" SOUTH, 76, of 913 Potomac Avenue, Hagerstown, Md. died on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the Washington County Hospital. Born February 13, 1930 in Halfway, Maryland, he was the son of the late Hubert R. and Fern O. Stotler South. He was retired from Lowe's. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #278 and the Moose. He was a volunteer for the Western Maryland Hospital Auxiliary. He is survived by his wife, Grace Miller South; a daughter, Cynthia M. Hoffman of Kissimmee, Fla..; four sons, W. Stephen South of Hagerstown, Mark J. South of Brandon, Fla., James S. South of Hagerstown and David A. South of Greencastle, Pa.; a brother, Don A. South of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Orabelle H. Gross and a brother Robert W. South. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. James R. Stauffer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
