Clifton Fritter Deward III, affectionately known as Buzzy to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, in Hagerstown, MD, at the age of 70. Born on June 15, 1954, in Maryland, Buzzy was a man of passion and handiness, whose presence enriched the lives of those around him.

Buzzy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Clifton Fitter Deward, Jr. and Rita Creaghan Deward, and his brother Allen Deward.

He is survived by his dedicated caregiver, Clinton Verdier; his brother, Steven Deward and wife Sherry; his sister, Stacy Wilkins; and his adored nieces and nephews, Colton, Kirk, Kaliah, Adrian, Ryan, and Krystyana. His fur babies, Lily, Molly, Andy, Boomer, and Poppy also held a special place in his heart.

Professionally, Buzzy was a talented graphic designer whose creativity left a lasting impression in his field. His love for his family was unparalleled, especially the extra special relationship he shared with his mother. Buzzy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as home improvement tasks and designing beautiful flower gardens. He was a wonderful cook and loved spending time in the kitchen and grilling. A passionate Redskins fan, he never missed a game and often shared his enthusiasm with fellow fans.

Buzzy's keen interest in politics made him a respected voice in the community. His insightful opinions on federal and local matters were frequently sought after by a local newspaper, especially on topics concerning the school board and city council.

Buzzy's legacy is one of love, dedication, and service. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire us.
