Obituary

CLAUDE RAYMOND THOMPSON, 76, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015. Born September 15, 1938, in Weaverton, Maryland, he was the son of the late Claude R. and Katheryn Nokes Thompson. Claude was employed with the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission for twenty-nine years. He was a car and train enthusiast. Claude enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking and flea markets. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren. Claude is survived by his wife, Devina Thompson; two daughters, Kathy DeBaufre of Wyoming and Tracey Demory and husband, Wayne of Boonsboro, MD; a sister, Janet Deener of Frederick, MD; a brother, Gary Thompson and wife, Wanda of St. Cloud FL; mother and father in-law, of Hagerstown, MD; sister-in-law, Jan Rennels of Hagerstown, MD; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Thompson; daughter, Carla Longnecker; two sisters, Mary Jane Hackley and Martha Ausherman; and one brother, John W. Thompson. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1915 Rohrersville Road, Knoxville, MD. Pastor Alan Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Cemetery. Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Online condolences are accepted at www.minnichfh.com.
