Clarence Milton Young, Jr., 85, of Baltimore, MD, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Born January 14, 1933 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Mildred Viola (Mahone) and Clarence Milton Young, Sr. Clarence graduated from Hagerstown High School class of 1950, Towson State Teachers College and then received his Masters Degree at Columbia University. He taught elementary school in Baltimore for 30 years. He enjoyed traveling and cruising all over the world, and he enjoyed cooking. He served in the U. S. Army. He was a member and deacon of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Lutherville, MD. He is survived by one brother, Donald Young and wife, Nell; one niece, Audra Nichols and husband, William; two nephews, Dwayne Young and girlfriend, Terri Brown, Darrell Young and wife, Julie; five grandnieces and grandnephews, Brittany Young, Cristina Young, Bailey Young, Mason Young, and Shannon Nichols. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Young; and one grandnephew, Brandon Nichols. The funeral service will be held 11am Friday, February 23, 2018 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor George Weaver will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Graveside military honors provided by the Joint Veterans Council and Marine Corp League of Hagerstown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 1010 Saters Lane, Lutherville, MD 21093.
