Obituary

CLARENCE MEAD (TIM) WOLFORD, 73 of 17314 Ontario Drive, Hagerstown, MD. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Born January 1, 1936, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles Downs Wolford and Ida Virginia Marks Wolford. Clarence (Tim) graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1953. He attended Lifehouse Church Bethel. Tim was a Maryland State Trooper and retired as a Lieutenant from Maryland Division of Correction. After retirement, Tim remained active in the community collecting donations for many organizations, including the Maryland Sheriff Association, the Hagerstown Police Athletic League, The Fraternal Order of Police and the Civitan Club. Tim was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and belonged to the Maryland State Police Alumni Association. He was one of the founding members of Community Rescue Service. Tim was actively involved in many youth sports and was instrumental in the formation of the Washington County Junior Football League. Tim loved spending time with his family and enjoyed attending the children's many extra curricular activities. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 49 years, Linda Jennings Wolford; a daughter, Traci Michele Parks and spouse, Rikki A. Parks, two sons, Timothy Mead Wolford and spouse Maria Pellico, and Frederick Jennings Wolford and spouse Erin Miller Wolford; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Katherine Wolford Wilson and spouse Thomas Edgar Wilson; and one niece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Peggy Irene Wolford and one grandson, Rikki Parks, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Lifehouse Church Bethel, 515 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Curt Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family requests the omission of flowers.
