Claire M. Campbell, 80, of Williamsport, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Doey's House in Hagerstown, MD. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Arthur Jordan Campbell, Jr.

Born February 6, 1944 in Arlington, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Louise A. (Kirchgessner) Montavon.

Claire was an active resident at Hilltop at Homewood assisted living where she enjoyed arts and crafts, social activities and bingo.

She is survived by her son, Arthur M. "Monty" Campbell and his wife, Stephanie, of Hagerstown; her stepdaughter, Victoria Elaine Sterling of Hagerstown, MD; nine grandchildren, Daniel Taylor Sterling and his wife, Julia, of Richmond, VA; Alexandra Elaine Sterling of Freeport, IL; Jordynn M. McPherson of Hagerstown; Marvin Owens Baer IV of Boonsboro, MD; Damian Matthew Droneburg of Hagerstown; Tyrese Jamal Campbell of Hagerstown; Brandon Isaiah Campbell of Hagerstown; Justice J. Campbell of Hagerstown; and A.J. Nash of Hagerstown. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Daniella Elaine, Zophia Beth and Max Walter Sterling-Cercavschi of Freeport, IL, Calla Taylor Sterling, of Richmond, VA and Emmett Marcus McPherson of Hagerstown.

She grew up in a large family and is survived by her siblings: Marie M. Collins, Marilyn M. Wavering, Rosemary F. Brooks, Jeanne M. Casey, Michael C. Montavon, and Richard A. Montavon. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank J. Montavon.

Claire's dedication to her community and her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Graveside services will be held 10am Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Rest Haven Cemetery with Pastor Bill Divelbiss officiating.

A viewing will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 6-8 pm.
