Cheri Ann Fitz, 73, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Somerford Assisted Living in Hagerstown, MD.

Born Saturday, August 23, 1952, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Daisy (Sword) Fitz.

Cheri graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1970. Shortly after graduation, she joined the Women Marines and proudly served from 1970 to 1973.

She lived abroad in Naples, Italy for three years and eventually settled in Jacksonville, FL working for Blue Cross Blue Shield until her retirement in 2008.

Throughout the years, Daytona Beach and Walt Disney World were her most enjoyable vacation locations.

She was of the Christian faith and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in State Line, PA.

She is survived by her sister, Angela Kearns (Ray) of Greencastle, PA, several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

The family would like to thank Somerford Assisted Living and Hospice of Washington County for their enduring care of Cheri.

The family is honoring Cheri's wishes, and no services will be held.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
